How to Farm Points in ARC Raiders: Harvest Plants During Cold Snap

Mar 28, 2026, 10:49:42 PST | Categories : ARC Raiders |

The Harvest Plants challenge during the Cold Snap event in ARC Raiders is one of the most efficient ways to rack up massive trial points—if you approach it with a precise strategy. Hitting 35,000 points or more in a single run isn’t about luck alone; it’s about route optimization, frostbite management, and strict prioritization. This guide breaks down exactly how to execute a high-scoring run consistently.

1. Prepare for Extreme Conditions

Cold Snap introduces constant frostbite buildup, which is your primary threat—not enemies. Your loadout should reflect survival and efficiency rather than combat endurance.

Bring a large запас of healing items. A strong baseline is around 20 green heals and a few higher-tier options for emergencies. You will take continuous environmental damage, and running out of healing will end your run early.

For weapons, prioritize something high-damage and fast-killing like the Holecracker. The goal is not to engage in extended fights but to eliminate threats quickly and continue farming without delay.

2. Master Frostbite Reset Mechanics

Understanding frostbite is critical. There are only two ways to reset it:

· Standing indoors and waiting (slow and inefficient)

· Taking fire damage (instant reset)

The second method is the foundation of high-level play. Blaze grenades are essential because they allow you to reset frostbite instantly without interrupting your route. Instead of wasting 30–60 seconds defrosting indoors, you can step into fire, reset your timer, and continue farming.

Be aware that fire damages both health and shields. If possible, remove your shield before triggering fire damage, though this can be cumbersome in practice. Many players simply bring a backup shield to compensate.

3. Focus Only on High-Value Plants

Not all plants are worth your time. Efficient runs depend on strict prioritization.

Focus on:

· Great Mullen

· Candleberries

· Mushrooms (secondary, mainly in the trench)

Avoid:

· Agave (very low spawn rate)

· Moss (extremely inconsistent and hard to locate)

Each harvested plant gives 500 points, so efficiency is about maximizing quantity, not chasing rare spawns.

4. Rush the Trench Immediately

No matter where you spawn, your first objective is always the trench. This area accounts for roughly one-third—or more—of your total score potential. If the trench has already been farmed by another player, it is often more efficient to abandon the run and restart. Missing the trench significantly caps your scoring ceiling.

Controlling the trench early also discourages other raiders from competing, effectively giving you control over the map.

5. Optimize Your Route

Route planning is dynamic and depends on your spawn location, but there are key principles:

· Use an interactive map to track plant spawns

· Farm the launch tower if it’s on your path (notably Great Mullen)

· Chain plant clusters efficiently without backtracking

Your route should ultimately lead toward an extraction point (raider hatch) as the timer expires. Poor endgame positioning can cost you valuable minutes and thousands of points.

6. Avoid Combat Whenever Possible

Combat is a liability in this challenge. High-tier enemies like Bastions, Bombarders, and Rocketeers are not worth engaging.

Instead, use tools like the Photoelectric Cloak to disengage and reposition. Every second spent fighting is a direct loss in farming efficiency.

7. Adapt to RNG

Even with perfect routing, randomness plays a role. Plant spawns vary between matches—not all locations will be active every time. However, the total number of plants across the map tends to remain relatively consistent. The variation comes from distribution, not total volume. If one area feels sparse, don’t panic—another section likely has higher density. Stay flexible and keep moving.

8. Manage Competition Strategically

Other players can significantly impact your score. Since each plant is worth 500 points, even minor interference adds up quickly.

If another raider is actively farming, evaluate the situation:

· Light competition may be manageable

· Heavy competition often justifies abandoning the run

High scores (35,000+) usually require minimal interference.

9. Extend Your Run to the Limit

Maximize your time. A top-tier run uses nearly the entire match duration.

Avoid unnecessary downtime:

· Don’t defrost indoors

· Minimize combat

· Keep moving between plant clusters

If you execute cleanly and remain uncontested, pushing toward 40,000 points is achievable with near-perfect routing.

10. Use Backup Fire Sources

If you run out of blaze grenades, adapt quickly. Alternative fire sources include:

· Fireflies (shoot them to create fire zones)

· Environmental fire hazards

Using these strategically can extend your run and preserve resources.

Final Thoughts

Success in the Harvest Plants Cold Snap challenge comes down to efficiency, not aggression. By prioritizing high-yield plants, mastering frostbite resets, and controlling key Region like the trench, you can consistently achieve elite scores. Execute the strategy cleanly, minimize interruptions, and your leaderboard ranking will reflect it.
