Diablo 4 Season 9: Goblins Farming Guide
Maximize Your Obesite, Sparks, and Mythic Uniques - With or Without the Expansion
Event Overview: What is March of the Goblins?
March of the Goblins is a limited-time seasonal event in Diablo 4 Season 9, running from July 29 through August 5, 2025. During this weeklong event, Treasure Goblin spawn rates across Sanctuary are massively increased, especially in specific hot zones.
This is not just cosmetic or fun - it's the most rewarding event for:
· Obesite (used to power up your Horadric Catalyst spells)
· Gold (millions per hour is achievable)
· Forgotten Souls (essential for high-end crafting)
· Resplendent Sparks (used to craft Mythic Uniques)
· Legendary and Unique Diablo 4 Items (tons of goblin drops)
With the right strategy, you can walk away from this event with 10+ Sparks, hundreds of thousands of Obesite, multiple Mythic Uniques, and a massive power spike - no matter what class or build you play.
Preparation Checklist (Before You Start Farming)
Before you hop into Sanctuary and chase the goblin horde, make sure you're prepped for maximum loot-per-hour:
1. Disable Cross-Network Play
· Navigate to: Settings → Connect → Cross-Network Play → OFF
· This ensures you're placed in a low-population instance, letting you farm without competition.
· Crucial for solo players and for dominating PvP zones without disruption.
2. Equip Movement Speed and Mount CDR Gear
Look for affixes like:
· Movement Speed on Boots
· Cooldown Reduction on Mount Spur
· Evade Charges
Optional: The Harley Quinn's Crest (Mythic Unique helm) gives unlimited spur duration - a top-tier goblin farming item.
3. Bind Mini-Map Zoom or Install Sububo (PC Only)
· Sububo lets you zoom out dramatically, showing more of the terrain and goblins.
· If on console or not using mods: regularly zoom your mini-map to catch goblin pings and react fast.
4. Empty Inventory and Carry Elixirs
· Start your runs with a clean bag to avoid stopping mid-farm.
· Use Speed or Precision Elixirs (Crit Chance, Movement Speed, or Resource Regen).
· Carry Town Portals for fast resets or cache drops.
Best Zones to Farm Goblins - Expansion vs. No Expansion
Whether you own Vessel of Hatred or not, there's a farming route for you.
WITHOUT THE EXPANSION: PvP Zones (Fields of Hatred)
The PvP Zones - especially Alzuuda and Denshar - are flooded with Treasure Goblins during the event.
Why It Works:
· Few players farm here = more goblins for you
· Goblins can spawn in clusters, especially near Blood Mark extraction sites
· They respawn rapidly when you loop the area
How to Farm It:
1. Mount up at a PvP town (Denshar or Alzuuda).
2. Sprint continuously using the spur button (Cooldown gear is key).
3. Loop in a figure-8 path across the entire PvP zone.
4. Kill all goblins you find - prioritize Treasure Goblins and Obese Goblins.
5. Use the mini-map to backtrack for missed spawns.
PvP Concerns?
· Turn off Cross-Network Play to reduce real player encounters.
· Most players avoid PvP areas anyway - the zones are very safe right now.
WITH THE EXPANSION: Nantu Region (Best Overall Goblin Zone)
The Nantu zone, introduced in the Vessel of Hatred expansion, is the most efficient goblin farming zone during this event.
Why Nantu?
· Goblins spawn in huge packs
· No cooldown between cluster spawns
· Close to multiple waypoints, ideal for fast resets
· Great pathing loops with few elevation breaks
How to Farm Nantu:
1. Teleport to the Shady Hollow Waypoint or Zan Temple.
2. Head south and southwest, making a loop around the middle-bottom of the zone.
3. Goblins here spawn every 60-90 seconds in 3-5 goblin packs.
4. Use a speed-clearing build (e.g., Pen Shot Rogue, Rapid Fire Sorc, Poison Creeper Druid).
5. Re-enter towns or portals every 10-15 minutes to reset the zone and force respawns.
Secret Tip: If you're grouped, send someone to farm eastern Nantu, and share waypoints when one side gets dense goblin clusters.
Goblin Reputation Track - The Real Goal
March of the Goblins isn't just about farming materials. The main progression track - Goblin Reputation - offers Resplendent Sparks, cosmetics, and more.
How the Reputation Works
· Every Treasure Goblin killed grants Goblin Reputation Points.
· You must kill dozens to hundreds to fill the Track from Rank 1 to Rank 10.
· The track is account-wide, but can be completed once per character.
Reaching Rank 10 rewards:
· Resplendent Spark x1
· Legendary Goblin Cache
· Seasonal Emblem & Cosmetics
Best Goblins to Prioritize
· Treasure Goblin: Standard goblin with decent loot
· Obese Goblin: Big boy with tons of Obesite & Gold
· Jewel Hoarder: Rare, drops gems and sometimes sparks
· Horadric Goblin: Season 9-only, drops Catalyst Fuel
· Sparkling Goblin: Rare spawn, can drop direct Sparks
Using Resplendent Sparks - Crafting Mythic Uniques
Once you've earned Sparks from the Reputation Track or other sources, here's what to do next.
If You Don't Own the Expansion
You can still use Resplendent Sparks!
Use the Blacksmith → "Forge Mythic Cache":
· Costs: 2 Resplendent Sparks
· Creates a random Mythic Unique
Examples:
· Tibault's Will - Barbarian
· Entropic Dagger - Rogue
· Harley Quinn's Crest - All classes
Tip: Salvage unwanted Mythics to recover 1 Spark. Efficient reroll loop!
If You Have the Expansion. You gain targeted crafting at the Jeweler.
Use the Jeweler → "Rune Imprint: Mythic Unique"
Requires:
· 2 Resplendent Sparks
· 3-5 Runes (Eom, Toh, Inl, Locks, etc.)
Guarantees a specific Mythic Unique you choose.
Use "Random Rune Crafting" with Runestones to transmute unwanted runes into the ones you need. Keep farming goblins and open caches for rune drops.
Farming Loop Example (Expansion Zone: Nantu)
Here's a clean 15-minute rotation for farming maximum goblins:
1. Start at Shady Hollow Waypoint
2. Ride south and loop around the eastern tree line
3. Kill all goblins on sight - sprint nonstop
4. Head to Zan Temple
5. Loop west and then northeast
6. Return to town, stash gear, reset instance
7. Repeat - kill rate ~70 goblins per run
Estimated Results (per 15 min):
· 60-80 goblins
· 6-12 Obese goblins
· 20,000+ Obese
· 1,000,000+ gold
· Chance at 1 Spark per 3 runs
Advanced Farming Tips
1. Group with High-Speed Builds
· Rogue (Pen Shot), Sorc (Ball Lightning), and Druid (Pulverize or Creeper) dominate goblin routes.
· Form 2-4 player groups to share spawns and reset loops faster.
2. Use Town Portal Trick
· If goblins dry up, TP to town and re-enter Nantu.
· The instance resets and can generate new goblin packs.
3. Elixir Rotation
· Use Precision Elixirs (Crit Chance/Movement Speed)
· Pop a new elixir every 15 minutes for near-permanent buff uptime
4. Play on Low Graphics (PC)
· Fewer visual effects = faster detection of goblins
· Avoids visual clutter in forested zones like Nantu
Final Thoughts
This is the best farming event in Season 9 - and maybe in all of Diablo 4's lifecycle so far. With no paywall for Sparks, free access to Mythics, and goblin gold fountains everywhere, March of the Goblins is your chance to stockpile resources and gear up fast.
You only have until August 5, so:
· Turn off cross-network play
· Choose your farming route (PvP or Nantu)
· Sprint nonstop, slaughter goblins, fill your Goblin Track
· Craft and reroll Mythics using Sparks
· Buy Diablo 4 materials that you need - and prepare for endgame!
Go Get That Loot
Now you're ready to crush March of the Goblins and walk away with more gold, sparks, and mythics than you know what to do with. Time is short. Make it count.
