Elden Ring: How to Complete Blaidd's Quest (And Get His Armor)
Blaidd's questline in Elden Ring is deceptively short at first glance, but to truly see it through- and to unlock his iconic Blaidd's Armor Set- you'll need to complete Ranni the Witch's full questline. That means embarking on one of the game's most expansive and lore-rich side stories.
Whether you're chasing down Blaidd for his gear, want his help in battle, or are just intrigued by the mysterious half-wolf warrior, here's everything you need to know to complete Blaidd's questline and get his armor.
Where to Find Blaidd in Elden Ring
You don't need to meet Blaidd early on in Limgrave to start his quest, but if you're exploring naturally, your first encounter will likely be in Mistwood.
1. First Encounter- Mistwood Ruins (Howl Location)
· Go to: Mistwood Ruins in Limgrave.
· How to Trigger: After hearing a wolf-like howl in the Mistwood, speak to Merchant Kale at the Church of Elleh. He'll teach you the Snap Gesture.
· Return to Mistwood and use the Snap Gesture near the howling to summon Blaidd.
Blaidd's Questline- Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Defeat Bloodhound Knight Darriwil
· Location: Forlorn Hound Evergaol, south of Agheel Lake.
· Reward: Bloodhound's Fang (curved greatsword).
· How: Use Blaidd's summon sign outside the Evergaol if you want his help. After winning, talk to him again outside to get a Somber Smithing Stone.
Bonus: Keep talking to Blaidd, and he'll mention a blacksmith in the north.
Step 2: Meet Smithing Master Iji
· Location: Just before Caria Manor in northwest Liurnia of the Lakes.
· What to Do: Say "Blaidd sent me" to Iji. He'll give you the Carian Filigreed Crest, a talisman that reduces the FP cost of skills.
Step 3: Continue at Caria Manor and Join Ranni
· Where: Clear Caria Manor and meet Ranni the Witch in Ranni's Rise.
· Join Her Service: Blaidd will now reappear as one of her loyal servants, along with Seluvis and War Counselor Seluvis.
Step 4: Nokron and Radahn
· Talk to Blaidd at Siofra River (southern edge after entering via Siofra River Well).
· He suggests talking to Seluvis, which leads to Sorceress Sellen.
· After speaking to all parties, Radahn's Festival becomes available.
· Boss Fight: Travel to Redmane Castle in Caelid. Blaidd is available as a summon in the Starscourge Radahn fight.
Step 5: After Radahn- Blaidd at Evergaol
· To help you defeat Radahn, you can buy Elden Ring Items. Blaidd will reappear at the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, visibly shaken.
· You can talk to him here to continue his story.
Step 6: Ranni's Rise- Final Encounter
· Finish Ranni's questline (including Nokron, Ainsel River, and the Lake of Rot), and after receiving the Dark Moon Greatsword, return to Ranni's Rise.
· Blaidd will be outside, having succumbed to madness.
Note: Sadly, Blaidd is hostile at this point. Defeating him is required to obtain his gear.
How to Get Blaidd's Armor in Elden Ring
Once Blaidd falls at the end of Ranni's questline, you can collect the Elden Ring Items following:
· Blaidd's Armor Set (after defeating him at Ranni's Rise).
· Royal Greatsword- His unique Colossal weapon.
· Black Wolf Mask- Found on a corpse behind Seluvis's Rise, not far from Ranni's Rise.
Tip: Seluvis's Rise only becomes accessible after Seluvis dies or after progressing far enough in Ranni's quest.
Final Thoughts
Blaidd is one of the most beloved NPCs in Elden Ring, and his story, while tragic, is deeply intertwined with some of the game's most memorable content. Completing his quest rewards you not only with excellent loot but also a richer understanding of the world of the Lands Between.
If you aim to become a legend with Blaidd's gear, be prepared for an epic journey. And don't forget- Ranni's quest unlocks one of the game's alternate endings, so completing it does more than just get you a cool outfit.
