Path of Exile 2 Crafting Guide: How to Make the Perfect Blood Mage Amulet

Oct 07, 2025, 14:48:22 PST | Categories : Path of Exile 2 |

For Blood Mage players in Path of Exile 2, survivability and damage scaling often go hand-in-hand. One of the best ways to unlock the full potential of your build is with a powerful, custom-crafted Amulet. This guide will walk you step by step through the process of creating an Amulet tailored for the Reap Blood Mage Build, featuring high Maximum Life, % Maximum Life, Spell Damage, Cast Speed, and % Life Gained on Kill.

The good news? This craft is highly deterministic, relatively inexpensive compared to other high-end items, and produces a guaranteed powerhouse result for endgame content.

What You'll Need

Before getting started, here's the full list of required Path of Exile 2 Items for this craft:

·2x Bloodstone Amulet (Item Level 75+) with Tier 1 (25-28%) increased Cast Speed

·2x Bloodstone Amulet (Item Level 75+) with any low-tier modifier (lower is better, ideally with a +40 Maximum Life implicit)

·2x Orbs of Annulment

·2x Perfect Exalted Orbs

·2x Omen of Recombination

·2x Omen of Homogenising Exaltation

·2x Omen of Greater Exaltation

·1x Omen of the Sovereign

·1x Omen of Abyssal Echoes

·1x Omen of Dextral Necromancy

·1x Preserved Collarbone

·50x Black Scythe Artifacts

If you're short on crafting bases, you can always buy POE2 Items from P2Pah to accelerate the process.

With these resources ready, you can follow the steps below to make a top-tier Blood Mage Amulet.

Step 1: Isolating Tier 1 Cast Speed

The first goal is to get a Rare Bloodstone Amulet with only Tier 1 Cast Speed.

1. Recombine one Amulet with T1 Cast Speed and random modifiers with another Bloodstone Amulet that has only a low-tier mod.

2. Use an Omen of Recombination for a Lucky roll, giving about a 75% chance of isolating Cast Speed.

3. Once successful, use an Orb of Annulment to remove the unwanted low-tier modifier. This gives a 50% chance of success.

If the annul removes Cast Speed, you'll need to restart this step. Success here leaves you with a clean T1 Cast Speed base, which is the backbone of this craft.

Step 2: Adding +3 All Spell Skills and Spell Damage

Now we want to guarantee +3 to the Level of All Spell Skills and T1-T2 Spell Damage.

1. Activate an Omen of Homogenising Exaltation.

2. Activate an Omen of Greater Exaltation.

3. Apply a Perfect Exalted Orb.

Why this works: Cast Speed carries the Caster and Speed tags. Since there are no other Speed mods, the Exalted Orb is restricted to Caster mods, leaving only Level of All Spell Skills and % Spell Damage. The Perfect Exalted Orb further guarantees high tiers only.

At this point, your Amulet already has the foundation of an incredible caster item.

Step 3: Securing a Life-Tagged Modifier

For Blood Mage builds, Life gain on Kill is essential. To force a Life-tagged modifier, we'll exploit Ulaman Desecrated Modifiers.

1. Activate an Omen of the Sovereign.

2. Activate an Omen of Dextral Necromancy.

3. Apply a Preserved Collarbone.

This guarantees a Ulaman suffix, one of which is Recover 2-3% Life on Kill. Take the item to the Well of Souls to reveal the modifier.

·Don't forget to use an Omen of Abyssal Echoes before revealing-this allows you to reroll if the first options don't show the Life on Kill mod.

·If you fail to hit the mod after rerolls, the fallback is to use an Omen of Light with an Orb of Annulment, which will specifically remove the Desecrated modifier. This lets you retry, though it is costly.

When successful, you now have Cast Speed, +3 All Spell Skills, Spell Damage, and % Life on Kill all locked in.

Step 4: Adding Flat and % Maximum Life

The next step ensures the Amulet gains both Flat Maximum Life and % Increased Maximum Life.

1. Activate an Omen of Homogenising Exaltation.

2. Activate an Omen of Greater Exaltation.

3. Apply a Perfect Exalted Orb.

Because your item now has a Life-tagged modifier, the Omen forces the new mods also to be Life-related. The only possible additions are Flat Maximum Life and % Maximum Life, both guaranteed at T1-T2 due to the Perfect Exalt.

This step transforms the Amulet into a true endgame powerhouse, providing both survivability and damage scaling.

Step 5: Finishing Touches

The last step is to polish the item:

·Use Flesh Catalysts to apply Quality and boost Life modifiers.

·Apply the Anoint of your choice depending on your Blood Mage build. For a Reap-focused build, consider damage and defense-focused nodes that synergize with your playstyle.

At this point, the Amulet should have:

·+3 to All Spell Skills

·High % Spell Damage

·T1 Cast Speed

·Life on Kill

·Flat Maximum Life

·% Maximum Life

This combination is nearly perfect for a Blood Mage, giving survivability, DPS, and sustain in one slot.

Final Thoughts

This craft is one of the most deterministic and rewarding crafts in Path of Exile 2. While it requires a moderate investment of Omens, Perfect Exalts, and Black Scythe Artifacts, the outcome is almost guaranteed, and the result is an endgame-defining Amulet.

For Reap Blood Mage builds, this crafted Amulet offers everything you could want-life scaling, spell damage, cast speed, and sustain. Compared to many other crafts, the low risk of failure and high ceiling of power make it an excellent target for players who want to push their character to the next level.

If you're running a Blood Mage in Diablo-style ARPG endgame content, this Amulet will feel like a true game-changer.
