Grinding Gear Games is giving Path of Exile 2 players a thrilling opportunity to test their speed, skill, and strategy with a brand-new set of speedrun races. The Last of the Druids event launches on March 29th and runs through April 12th, 2026, featuring three separate races designed to spotlight the newly introduced Druid class and its 21 unique skills. This series is open to all players on both PC and console, with a shared prize pool ensuring accessibility regardless of platform.

Race Streaming and Broadcast

Fans and participants can follow the action live on Twitch, with professional shoutcasting by ZiggyD and RaizQT. For Race 2, CrimsonCasts joins as a co-caster, taking over for ZiggyD. Players are encouraged to co-stream, allowing them to watch through their favorite content creators or the official event broadcast.

Event Schedule (PDT):

·Race 1: March 29 at 12:00 PM

·Race 2: April 5 at 1:00 PM

·Race 3: April 12 at 1:00 PM

Participation is simple. Players click the "Join" button from the Character Select screen, create a new character, and once the race begins, the timer starts immediately. Ladder links will be posted for spectators, allowing real-time tracking of the leaders and post-race time comparisons.

Prizes and Rewards

The Last of the Druids race series offers an enticing lineup of rewards. In addition to ladder rankings, the top player in each of the eight classes-Ranger, Sorceress, Witch, Monk, Warrior, Mercenary, Huntress, and the new Druid-will receive a Demigod's Virtue unique item. With three races, that amounts to eight Demigod's Virtues awarded per event, with future races cycling through other Demigod's items to eventually create a complete armor set, including weapons.

Additional prizes include official Path of Exile 2 Displates for the fastest time in each class across all three races, as well as a custom Divination Card design awarded to the overall fastest competitor of the series.

For players looking to optimize quickly, some may also acquire better gear or enhance Path of Exile 2 currency, giving them a competitive edge in the races.

Race Rules and Guidelines

Participants should be aware of a few important rules to ensure fair play:

·Inappropriate character names-including borderline names-will result in disqualification from the race and potential future events.

·GGG staff are excluded from winning prizes.

·Certain skills, such as Incinerate and Flame Breath, cannot be selected in the Gemcutting menu due to a pending fix in patch 0.5.0 involving Oil Grenade interactions.

·The races are free to enter, emphasizing skill, preparation, and execution rather than financial investment.

With the fixed-layout Fate of the Vaal environment, all players compete on an even playing field, focusing on strategy, routing, and execution.

The Druid Debut

The addition of the Druid class makes this series particularly exciting. Players now have 21 fresh skills to experiment with, providing new possibilities in both offense and defense. Whether you're a veteran looking to test a new class or a Druid main eager to push the limits in a competitive setting, these races are an excellent chance to showcase your mastery.

The Druid's unique abilities, combined with the Fate of the Vaal environment, create a dynamic and engaging race experience. Players must balance speed, survivability, and damage output to secure top positions on the ladder.

Tips for Success

1. Plan Your Route: Learn the layout of the Fate of the Vaal environment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

2. Optimize Skills: Experiment with Druid abilities that complement your speedrunning style, balancing mobility, damage, and survivability.

3. Upgrade Gear Efficiently: Enhance your Path of Exile 2 Items using in-game resources or by deciding to buy POE2 Currency for faster progression.

4. Practice Timing: Mastering precise skill and movement timing is crucial to reducing mistakes and gaining an edge over competitors.

Conclusion

The Path of Exile 2 Last of the Druids race series promises some of the most exciting speedrunning action of 2026. With three races, the introduction of the Druid class, new league content, and high-value rewards such as Demigod's Virtues, this event is designed to challenge players' speed, skill, and strategic thinking.
