Path of Exile 3.26: Forbidden Right Soul Sacrifice Guide

Jul 08, 2025, 11:50:10 PST | Categories : Path of Exile |

If you're not playing Forbidden Right in Path of Exile 3.26, then you're missing out on one of the strongest builds in the league. The reason is the addition of a unique amulet called Whispers of Infinity. This amulet changes the way skills cost resources by making them consume Energy Shield instead of life or mana. Because of this, a new version of the Forbidden Right skill—called Forbidden Right of Soul Sacrifice—became extremely powerful. This alternate version gains much more base damage from Energy Shield, but originally came with a high life cost, making it hard to use. However, thanks to the amulet, it's now viable in full Chaos Inoculation (CI) builds, meaning you can go low-life immune and still access the massive damage potential.

The version of the build discussed here is a Cast on Crit variant that also happens to be nearly immortal. It uses Aegis Aurora, has over 50,000 armor, and reaches 90% maximum elemental resistances. This setup can farm Delirious Tier 17 maps with ease and handles bosses just as easily. It's built on the Occultist ascendancy, which is well suited for chaos-based CI builds.

The ascendancy choices begin with Profane Bloom, which causes enemies to explode for 25% of their life as chaos damage. This alone clears packs extremely fast and is one of the strongest nodes for mapping. Vile Bastion is the next pick, giving you 100 flat ES regeneration per second and immunity to stuns while you have ES. It also increases your max energy shield based on spell block. Unholy Authority is then selected to allow for a second curse setup, which is key in a Cast on Crit build. We use this to apply Assassin's Mark through our attack skill. Finally, Forbidden Power is taken to provide an extra power charge and scaling area of effect and area damage per charge, which boosts both clear and single-target damage. Since the build is Cast on Crit, capping critical strike chance is essential, and power charges help with that.

For the passive skill tree, the main focuses are power charges, intelligence, energy shield scaling, chaos damage, block chance, armor, area damage, and critical strike scaling. Jewel sockets are also a priority.

The build uses two large cluster jewel setups. One has Overwhelming Malice and Wicked Pall, and the other has Touch of Cruelty and Wicked Pall again. Then there are two medium cluster jewels focused on the area of effect, each with Towering Threat and Magnifier. A single medium crit cluster is used, with Basics of Pain and Pressure Points. There's also a small cluster jewel that grants three passives and boosts mana reservation efficiency, as well as resistances.

Several passive masteries are picked up. These include +3 to the level of all critical support gems, 10% increased aura effect from our skills, 3% increased damage per power/frenzy/endurance charge, 10% more chaos damage to enemies with energy shield, 1% chance to block attacks and 5% from the shield, +25% critical strike multiplier against unique enemies, and the unique Runa Graft of Treachery, which gives us 15% increased reservation efficiency while causing our auras to also affect enemies. This is useful because giving Discipline to enemies makes them take more chaos damage due to one of our chaos masteries.

When it comes to gear, we start with the weapon. You'll want an Imperial Skean dagger with either a fractured tier 1 critical strike chance or crit multiplier. Then spam Essences of Zeal to get tier 0 attack speed. Once you have two strong suffixes, finish it by adding increased spell damage as a prefix and craft “Hits Cannot Be Evaded.” This costs around 10 divines to finish and is best-in-slot.

The shield is Aegis Aurora, which restores 2% of your armor as Energy Shield on block. With 50k+ armor, this becomes your primary defense layer, especially in encounters like Simulacrum where monsters swarm you. Aegis also adds +5% to your max cold resistance, which we use with the Melding of the Flesh jewel to raise all max elemental resistances.

The amulet is Whispers of Infinity, the key to making the build work. It drops from the new Incarnation of the Dread boss. In addition to changing skill costs to Energy Shield, it gives around 480 flat ES with defensive catalysts. You should anoint Force of Darkness on it for 15% chaos penetration.

For the helmet, the Crown of the Inward Eye, corrupted with +1 to max power charges, is the best choice. Even a moderately priced version of this helm will outperform most rare options.

The body armor is a rare Sacred Chainmail. Look for a base with a fractured tier 1 defense prefix, then spam Essences of Rage to get good suffixes like resistances or attributes. You can use Eldritch currency to slam a second defensive prefix. Make sure to apply Eldritch implicits that increase aura effect and Determination effect.

Boots must have a 20% increased cooldown recovery rate (from the Crusader influence mod). This is essential for Cast on Crit. Other stats to look for are high ES and movement speed.

Gloves should be rare with energy shield and resistances. Eldritch implicits on the gloves should include +2% to max cold resistance and chaos leech, which gets converted to ES through Ghost Reaver.

For rings, the best option is a Precursor's Emblem with +1 max power charges and 3% increased ES per power charge. It's almost mirror-tier in power but more affordable, especially when paired with the unique Kundra's Touch ring to copy the effects.

The belt is Mageblood. While Path Of Exile currency is expensive, it's crucial for enabling flask uptime. We use it to boost cold resistance with a sapphire flask and get a huge armor boost from a granite flask.

The gem setup for the main 6-link includes Forbidden Right of Soul Sacrifice, Cyclone, level 6 Awakened Cast on Crit, Awakened Void Manipulation, Power Charge on Crit, and Awakened Greater Multiple Projectiles.

For auras, we run Determination, Zealotry, and Discipline in one 4-link, supported by Enlighten level 4. In another 4-link, we have Despair (Awakened), Blasphemy, Tempest Shield, and another Enlighten level 4. Our curse setup includes Assassin's Mark, Mark on Hit, Flame Golem, and Dash. Lastly, for defense, we use Molten Shell, Automation, and Increased Duration.

As for jewels, the build runs a Watcher's Eye with energy shield gained per hit while affected by Discipline, and physical damage reduction while under Determination. A Militant Faith jewel that references High Templar Dominus is used to convert keystones into Inner Conviction, which gives 3% more spell damage per power charge. Thread of Hope is used in a large ring slot to allocate Glancing Blows and Divine Shield. Melding of the Flesh is included to align max elemental resistances with cold res. You'll need to craft additional elemental resists on your flasks to balance this out.

The rest of your rare jewels should include crit multi, spell damage, energy shield, and most importantly, one must have +2% mana reservation efficiency and +2% max cold resistance to cap your resists and support your aura setup.

For the Bandits quest, kill all three to get the extra passive point. As for Pantheons, use the Soul of Nares and Soul of Rakesh for solid defensive utility.

This version of Forbidden Right is one of the best all-rounder builds available in Path of Exile 3.26. It has incredible damage, can tank just about anything in the game, and doesn't feel clunky thanks to its CoC setup. While it isn't a league starter due to the cost of Mageblood and Whispers of Infinity, it's worth aiming for as your main build once you're established. Whether you're farming endgame bosses, Delirium content, or pushing deep maps, this build handles everything with ease. It's powerful, flexible, and extremely satisfying to play once it's fully set up.
