When Could Path of Exile 2 Season 3 (Patch 0.3) Go Live?

Jul 15, 2025, 10:40:45 PST | Categories : Path of Exile 2 |

Following the momentum of Path of Exile's continued League expansions-including the highly praised Secrets of the Atlas-Grinding Gear Games (GGG) committed to a consistent League every four months. This roadmap now extends to Path of Exile 2, which launched its first League, Dawn of the Hunt, in April 2025. With three months already behind us, all signs point to the next major League arriving soon, likely on August 29, 2025 (PDT).

Here's why that date makes sense and what players can expect from Path of Exile 2 Season 3 and patch 0.3.0.

Patch 0.3.0 is expected on August 29, 2025

GGG has been consistent with its League model: every four months, players should expect a new Season. Dawn of the Hunt went live on April 4, 2025, and the next League Season is expected to launch at the end of August to maintain that schedule. Based on previous patterns and internal testing cycles, August 29, 2025, is the most likely launch date for Patch 0.3.0 and the accompanying League.

Why This Date Matters for GGG

Beyond simply maintaining player expectations, there are two key reasons why GGG is unlikely to delay the next League beyond August:

1. China Server Launch

While PoE 2 entered Early Access globally in December 2024, its Chinese release has yet to occur. GGG has confirmed that patch 0.3.0 will launch with full Chinese server support. Aligning that launch with a fresh League ensures that Chinese players can start on equal footing and experience new content right away, maximizing hype and engagement across both regions.

2. Synchronizing PoE 1 and 2

GGG wants to maintain a staggered League rhythm between Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2. Currently, the two titles have a two-month gap in their League cycles. If PoE 2 Season 3 is delayed, it could throw this alignment off, resulting in an overloaded development cycle or a shortened Season 4 window. That kind of disruption would create logistical challenges and potentially confuse the player base.

What's Coming in PoE 2 Season 3?

While we don't have full patch notes just yet, we do know several things about what's coming in PoE 2 Season 3 and patch 0.3.0, thanks to recent developer interviews.

Easier Leveling Past 95

One of the biggest frustrations with the current endgame is the brutal XP grind beyond Level 90, especially past Level 95. According to Game Director Jonathan Rogers, GGG is working on XP curve changes that make it easier and more rewarding for players, especially casuals, to push into the high 90s without burning out in the process.

This could mean:

· Increased XP gain from high-tier maps

· Lower death penalties

· XP multipliers based on performance or modifiers

Quality-of-Life Improvements

GGG continues to fine-tune the PoE 2 experience in early access. In addition to XP tweaks, patch 0.3.0 is expected to bring:

· UI updates for crafting and inventory

· Server-side performance enhancements (significant for new regions)

· New Ascendancy tuning and balance updates

New Acts? Not Quite Yet

While it's been confirmed that Acts 4 through 6 will be coming to PoE 2, Jonathan Rogers mentioned they may arrive "sooner than expected"-but probably not with patch 0.3.0. Instead, players can expect new Acts to roll out closer to patch 0.4.0 or 0.5.0, later in the Early Access cycle. That said, GGG could tease these Acts with new NPCs, areas, or cutscenes in 0.3.0 to build anticipation.

What Could Surprise Players?

While GGG keeps a tight lid on its big reveals until patch previews, PoE 2 Season 3 might introduce:

· A new Ascendancy class

· A unique League mechanic that ties into Hunt or Capture gameplay

· Expanded crafting affixes or overhauls

· The first steps of full controller support for the PC client

Additionally, with the China launch, there's a possibility that PoE 2 will receive its first global event or cross-region challenge, especially since League launches often coincide with temporary events.

Final Thoughts

The August 29, 202,5 release window for Path of Exile 2 Season 3 seems increasingly solid based on GGG's past cadence and recent developer communication. Between the long-awaited Chinese server, significant quality-of-life improvements, and continued League content, patch 0.3.0 may be the most impactful update to the sequel yet.

When Path of Exile 2 Season 3 Launches, Path of Exile 2 Currency is the most important. Path of Exile 2 Currency is a combination of a regular currency like Gold in other MMOS and base materials for item crafting, which is a big part of the game. So, if you don't have enough Path of Exile 2 Currency, welcome to P2Pah to buy POE 2 Orbs and Path of Exile 2 Currency.

Whether you're grinding your way past Level 95 or just diving in for the new League, Season 3 of Path of Exile 2 is shaping up to be a must-play chapter in the game's Early Access journey.
