Torchlight Infinite: Season Start Tier List
With the new season of Torchlight Infinite around the corner, it’s time to revisit the character tier list—this time based solely on what we can see from the season trailer and early-level data. Like last season, I’m basing this tier list on season starters rather than fully optimized late-game builds. The goal? Help players figure out which characters will dominate at the very start of the season.
Here’s a detailed look at my preliminary tier rankings for SS10 starters.
S Tier: The Absolute Starters
Goth Mummy – Thea
Thea remains one of the strongest starters in the game. Early-season data shows many players reaching level 96–97 within the first two days. Despite rumors of nerfs, her kit is so strong that she would need a complete gut to drop out of S tier. Fast, versatile, and deadly, Thea continues to be a safe bet for anyone aiming to dominate early maps.
Cat Eye – Erica
Both Erica builds—Windstalker and Lightning Shadow—are incredibly popular, particularly on Asia servers. Using Thunder Spike and Spiral Strike, Erica is a campaign powerhouse and an efficient farmer. Her gameplay wowed audiences at Torchcon 25, and it’s unlikely that developers will nerf her heavily anytime soon. S tier is a natural fit.
Spacetime Witness – Yuga
Yuga 1’s Chain Lightning build is terrifying at season start. With Frost and Frigid Transmission, he clears content faster than most. Yuga 2 focuses on affliction effects and reap explosions. Even if minor nerfs hit, he will remain a top-tier starter. Both Yugas are excellent choices for players aiming to crush early content.
Rosa 2 – Mana Stack Build
Despite early-game struggles with leveling, Rosa 2 is strong at season start thanks to Thunder Spike (pre-nerf era). She remains one of the better starters, particularly for those who enjoy a versatile mage-style approach.
Selena – Howling Gale
If there’s a “trip S+ God tier” for season start, Selena takes it. Her channel skill, Howling Gale, lets her blitz through the game efficiently. She excels even without the best Torchlight Infinite Items, making her arguably the most dominant starter.
Bing 2
Being a paid hero, Bing 2 is automatically overpowered. With Spell Burst and a robust early skill set, he is essentially guaranteed S tier performance for the season.
A Tier: Strong, But Not Godly
Berserker Rehan (both)
Rehan is tanky and offers straightforward gameplay, though he’s slower than other starters. Early-level performance is solid, justifying an A-tier placement.
Gemma (Flame of Pleasure, Frostbitten Heart, Fire Fusion)
All three Gemma builds are strong, especially with their elemental abilities (Flame Core, Frost Terror, Thundercore). While powerful, they slightly lack the versatility of S-tier characters at season start.
Boom Moto 2
Despite being a fan favorite and arguably overpowered in theory, early-season performance is underwhelming due to enemy shields and slow progression. Still, Moto 2’s unique free activation medium makes him a solid A-tier choice.
Iris 1 – Growing Breeze
Minion-focused builds dominate early gameplay. Iris 1 provides fun, easy-to-play mechanics and strong early performance.
B Tier: Situational or Slow Starters
Berserker Rehan Sthing Silhouette
Good early gameplay and straightforward combat make him serviceable, but slower progression keeps him from being higher.
Divine Shot Corino & Zealot of War Corino
These builds improve with investment, but season start data shows limited success. Corino Lethal Flash does much better once automated, but early-game stats put him in B tier.
Lightbringer Rosa – Highcourt Chariot
Super tanky but clunky without activation mediums. Early-level gameplay is solid but not dominant.
Oracle Wisdom of the Gods – Thea
Limited popularity and modest early stats make this starter a B-tier option.
Low Tier: Underwhelming at Season Start
Boom Moto 1
Underperformed this season due to shields and poor early scaling. Avoid as a starter until changes are applied.
Other early Corino builds
Low popularity and weaker early-game numbers place them in the bottom tier.
Final Thoughts
For this season, the S-tier starters at league launch are:
· Goth Mummy – Thea
· Both Erica Builds
· Both Yuga Builds
· Rosa 2
· Selena
· Bing 2
A-tier choices include Rehan, Gemma, Boom Moto 2, and Iris 1, while B-tier and lower starters are mostly situational or slower to shine.
This tier list reflects only early-season performance. As players invest in gear and optimize builds, some B-tier starters could easily jump into S tier later.
Stay tuned—I’ll follow up with pro builds for these S-tier starters to help you get the most out of your season launch.
